Movie cars non-stop
03/15/2022
Cars that play a major role in films always have their own appeal. But they are also often incredibly expensive. This is probably what prompted one American fan to recreate such cars. The car had to look like the one in the movie, but it didn't have to be identical. These cars from the Triple J Ranch Car Collection are now going under the hammer at the Mecum auction in Houston from March 31 to April 2, 2022 .
In addition to the 1965 Chrysler Imperial pictured above, which is known from the movie "Green Hornet", there is also the 1959 Cadillac Station Wagon ECTO-1, for example, as it was used as an emergency vehicle in the movie "Ghostbusters".
The De Lorean DMC-12 from the back-to-the-future trilogy is of course also well-known.
We could also mention the Hudson from 1948, as seen in the film "Dick Tracy" with Warren Beatty.
For action TV series fans, the 1992 GMC G-series van, as seen in the A-Team - John "Hannibal" Smith, Templeton "Face(man)" Peck and H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock - often served as an escape and emergency vehicle.
As mentioned, all the cars are replicas, but that hardly makes them any less visually appealing, which also applies to the Batmobile or the VW Beetle "Herbie", which are also part of this set, especially as they are all being auctioned by Mecum in Houston with no reserve price. Incidentally, this also applies to the Flintstones' prehistoric vehicle ...
