Summary
Movie cars have been particularly popular for many years, but only a few have even managed to have the movie named after them. A 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible was the star of "Pink Cadillac", in which the car is driven by Clint Eastwood and Bernadette Peters. The 5.7-meter-long car with its excessive fins has survived. This driving report portrays the movie car, shows film clips and documents from the shooting, supplemented by the development history of the Series 62 Cadillac.

The 1989 film "Pink Cadillac" is probably not one of those cult films that you simply have to see. After all, it didn't even earn the manageable production costs of USD 19 million in cinemas. However, Clint Eastwood fans at least will know what we are talking about, as the American actor played the leading role alongside Bernadette Peters. Actually, the car was almost as important in the film and, in keeping with the title, it was of course a pink Cadillac, a Series 62 Convertible from 1959 to be precise. However, the script, written by John Eskow, called for a 1957 Cadillac for the film, which was launched in 1989. In fact, the Series 62 had been available from the GM brand since 1940 (and until 1964).
