We like to grumble about the unimaginativeness of modern car color palettes and the current street scene, which looks like a black and white photograph with all its shades of grey. But the snapshot above from the film "Goldfinger" shows that things weren't much more colorful in 1964, at least in Miami, Florida. The parking lot in front of the Fontainebleau Hotel, where James Bond meets CIA agent Felix Leiter at the beginning of the film, is dominated by bodies in black, grey and white. There is only one red car in the row of parked street cruisers. At least the cabs at the side of the road bring a little color into play.
