Why not drive a police car?
Around 33 MGAs are said to have been built for use by the British police.
Some of them have survived and continue to attract attention. They differed from normal MGA sports cars in that they had additional headlights, special illuminated signs, blue lights and sirens as well as a radio telephone.
One of these cars (chassis GHN2/102947) from 1961 has survived and has just been auctioned off in restored condition in Hershey by RM .
The expected USD 75,000 to 90,000 could not quite be realized, but USD 60,000 as the highest bid for an MGA is quite impressive, and the consignor agreed to the sale.
The resultsof the entire two-day Hershey auction have already been published.
