Hoping for a second wave
04/29/2020
Everyone is talking about "waves" at the moment, but unfortunately only in the context that will soon be blowing up in our faces. Yet there are many a "second wave" that we would welcome immediately.
How about a "second wave" of cabin scooters à la Isetta, Messerschmitt, Heinkel, Inter and the like, for example? These things could take over many transportation tasks in local traffic ecologically and economically and would probably be relatively cheap to produce. The Microlino is a step in this direction, but more is needed for a "wave". And, above all, buyers.
Or how about a "second wave" of three-wheeled sports cars à la Morgan Three Wheeler or Darmont? Gladly without frills and at a reasonable price. Certainly no more expensive than a VW Polo.
Or how about a "second wave" of lightweight sports cars à la Lotus Elan, Marcos or Ginetta G4? The current "Koenigsegg" design with 700 kg could point in the right direction, but will probably remain a study.
And a "second wave" of really unreasonable but affordable sports cars such as the Super Seven or Renault Sport Spider (pictured above) would also be welcome. And we could also get used to the VW ID Buggy if it were offered at a reasonable price.
We, for one, would be ready for a "second wave" and hopefully the driving fun that comes with it!
And we are convinced that our readers also have a few good ideas for "second waves" that would do the world good. If so, just leave a comment!
