Driving pleasure and the joy of ownership have little to do with money
In classic car discussions and when reading magazines, you often get the feeling that it's the expensive and classy cars that are the most enjoyable. And of course, owners who have bought a classic car for a lot of money are proud of their cars. I would call this "joy of ownership".
But it is not always clear whether they really enjoy driving their treasure. After all, the expensive piece also causes a lot of stress. You can't park it everywhere, it needs an expert to solve problems, insurance premiums are high and the envy factor also causes problems.
The driver of a Porsche 944or an Austin-Healey Sprite has it much easier. And cars are a joy to drive, regardless of their value. Pleasure comes from what is interesting and perhaps also "different" to drive. And this applies to cheap classics as well as expensive ones.
Even the joy of ownership is not dependent on the value, because if, for example, someone can buy a car that may have belonged to an uncle or father many years ago, then they are proud of this special vehicle. And there are many other reasons to be proud of the car you own ...
