It doesn't always have to be the cell phone

A quick glance at the picture of the Simca Rally 1reveals a woman in the background and makes you think that she is obviously typing something into her cell phone (or tablet), perhaps a text message, or looking at the photo she has just taken. But a second and closer look reveals that she is not holding an electronic device at all, but a pigeon (carrier pigeon?).
Today we are so used to the cell phone being omnipresent that we see it even where it is not. Even at classic car events, almost every participant and spectator has one with them and the amount of impressions they freeze is huge.
But there was a time before that and it wasn't that long ago. When today's classic cars were built, the cell phone was a luxury product weighing several kilograms that few people could afford or wanted. Back then, photos were taken with a Leica, Rolleiflex, Kodak Instamatic or Pentax Spormatic.
