Nelsinho Piquet's birthday present of a very special kind
The celebrant was Nelsinho Piquet, son of F1 world champion Nelson Piquet. The birthday party for the Brazilian took place on the Timmelsjoch, a border pass between Austria and South Tyrol, 2500 meters above sea level. What on earth brings a Brazilian to the Timmelsjoch for a birthday party? His girlfriend? Hardly! Or does he? Now what? Yes, it's true, Virgilia, Nelsinho's girlfriend, found the perfect present for her boyfriend. For once, there was no Kaiserschmarren on the Timmelsjoch, but a BT52, an M1, a GTR and a CSi!
All desserts from BMW. But not just any desserts were enjoyed, but those of Nelsinho's father: the Brabham BT52 BMW-Turbo World Champion 1983...
... the Procar M1 Champion 1980...
... and the McLaren F1 GTR Le Mans of 1997 (retirement due to accident).

36 years have passed since Nelson Piquet became champion in the M1 Procar in 1980. Now his son can take a seat in that car, 33 years ago today.
Three years after the Procar title, the Brazilian brought the first turbo world championship title in the history of F1 to Munich in the Brabham BT52 BMW. All these BMW cars were a gift from Virgilia to her Nelsinho.
So it could be very difficult for him to counter, or maybe not? A marriage proposal with a wedding ceremony on the Grossglockner perhaps?
