Another rarity in the Zwischengas magazine archive
03/29/2012
The Illustrierte Automobil Revue was published between 1922 and 1942, sometimes monthly, sometimes at longer intervals. As the name suggests, it was an offshoot of the well-known trade journal "Automobil Revue". The word "illustrated" refers to the more frequent appearance of illustrations in contrast to newspaper printing, a different format, better paper and the use of color, albeit sparingly at the beginning.
The almost 6,000 pages now integrated into the Zwischengas magazine archive contain extremely rare and valuable information.
Not only did the Automobil Revue publish the forerunner of the later AR catalog in this special publication and thus the technical data and characteristics of the pre-war automobiles available at the time, the Illustrierte Automobil Revue also served to print illustrations that had no place in the newspaper.
In addition to the reports on technical developments, races and other car-related topics, the Illustrierte Automobilrevue also featured large-format advertisements.
And the really wealthy car companies and coachbuilders even treated themselves to color advertising pages.
The Illustrierte Automobil Revue is now available for eager readers in the Zwischengas magazine archive ! And of course, just like other magazines, it will soon be searchable, even more easily via the recently introduced archive search.
