The judge and the goddess

It looks like an abstract oil painting in the style of Gerhard Richter's famous "Ferrari" or the less famous "Two Fiats", both from 1964. In fact, however, this picture is just a dynamically blurred photograph that was printed in a Citroën brochure in 1965. It was intended to illustrate the superior braking power and stability of the disc brakes even in the most hectic traffic jams.
Connoisseurs will notice that the Citroën DS 19 pictured is no longer the very latest model. The sharp-braking goddess still wears her first "nose" without the rubber bumpers introduced in 1963 and with the step under the bumper that disappeared in 1963. The color "Rouge Esterel" ultimately suggests a model from 1960 to 1962. But that's all right. After all, Richter's "Ferrari" was not a Ferrari.
