No fears of recession and inflation among classic car enthusiasts (Question of the week)
Press coverage is currently full of the topics of recession, inflation, energy shortages and economic crisis. Some classic and youngtimers might be pondering and wondering what the future might bring.
But what conclusion do they come to? We wanted to find out with a " question of the week" , which was: How will the fears of recession affect classic cars/youngtimers?
Classic car owners are obviously optimistic. 46.6 percent of the 348 Zwischengas readers who responded assume that they will hold on to their old car or even buy another one. A further 26.7 percent assume that the recession will not harm their old car and that their hobby is not threatened by any changes.
Only 17.8 percent are more pessimistic and assume that many classic/young car owners will part with their cars because they need money or fear that the value of the vehicles could fall.
It should also be noted that 8.9 percent of respondents did not choose any of the given options.
Overall, however, it is safe to conclude that classic and vintage car owners are optimistic about the future. The graphical analysis of the answers gives the following picture:
