The Porsche 911 will still be around in 2050 (question of the week)
The world is changing, and the automotive world is facing major upheavals. The internal combustion engine is to be replaced by the battery-electric drive, forcing the automotive industry and service providers to undergo huge restructuring. What impact will all this have on classic cars?
We wanted to find out from Zwischengas readers and proposed six model series with the " question of the week": Which of these classic cars will still be on our roads in 2050?
Almost 450 readers took part in the survey and the result is pretty clear. If there will still be classic cars on our roads in 2050, then the Porsche 911 (including its successors up to the 992) is set. 58.3% of the responses saw it as the most popular car type of the six proposed.
In second place was the VW Golf (17.2%), which should certainly benefit from the enormously high production figures.
In third place was the Mercedes-Benz SL (13.8%).
The Alfa Romeo Spider takes 4th place (5.1%), 5th place goes to the Mini (3.8%) and the fewest (1.8%) believe that the Ferrari eight-cylinder sports cars (308, 328, 348, 355, 458 , 488, F8) will be the most frequently encountered classic car on the roads of 2050.
The result could be summarized as follows: popular icons triumph over masses.
