30 km/h speed limit and the classic car
07/09/2020
It almost seems to be a done deal, more and more cities and municipalities are setting up 30 km/h zones, sooner or later 30 km/h will probably generally apply in urban areas, perhaps apart from specially signposted main traffic routes, the confusion is currently difficult to understand.
Modern cars have a relatively easy time of it, the gears usually change automatically anyway, and sufficient cooling is also provided.
Older cars are less well prepared, especially when the outside temperature is high and the speed tends towards stop-and-go. Even a pampered classic can get hot, engine compartments overheat, vapor bubbles form and the technology capitulates (temporarily).
However, some classic cars may even feel a little more comfortable, such as cabin scooters.
In any case, new speed regulations will certainly not be refrained from because of the old cars, so there is nothing left to do but to bring the cooling system up to scratch as far as possible and to install an additional fan here and there, which can perhaps even be switched on manually at an early stage.
Or what do our readers think?
