On the black ice with the old Porsche
The Porsche Center Zurich ventured onto black ice ... and was a complete success.
The team at the Hotel Nira Alpina in Silvaplana had already prepared everything for the joint check-in when the Porsche drivers arrived. This left enough time for a bit of wellness or a test of the hotel's own Cicar Lounge. The kitchen team spoiled the "cross drivers" with an excellent dinner and the evening was very entertaining. We don't know who turned off the lights at the bar ... at least everyone had a good time and the next morning everyone was back in full attendance for breakfast.
On March 4, 2020, around ten Porsche Classic vehicles met in beautiful weather to see who could produce the best drift on the perfectly prepared track.
After a short briefing, even the last Samedans were woken up. The old 356s and 911s roared around the track and the drivers couldn't stop grinning. Cross, crosser, crossest.
Even the instructors had a great time and drove along several times. Old memories came flooding back ... Unadulterated, pure, direct and mechanically more fun is not possible.
The participants were also given the opportunity to drive the latest Porsche vehicles. There was even the brand new Taycan on site, as well as the rest of the current product range, i.e. Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and of course the latest 911 models.
The pilot project "Porsche Classic Zurich Winter Driving Training" passed the test with flying colors. Classic car fans can look forward to us organizing this training again next year. Then also with a pick-up and drop-off service so that the classic cars don't see any salt.
