Breaking new ground, right now!
03/21/2020
The coronavirus crisis has us firmly in its grip. Event after event is being canceled, only the auction houses seem to be bucking the trend. Bonhams is holding the Goodwood auction, RM/Sotheby's is putting the cars under the hammer online in Palm Beach.
And the classic car gallery in Toffen? The enterprising team led by Reinhard Schmidlin has also come up with a number of ideas for holding the auction on March 28, 2020, without an audience on site.
New paths were taken in the documentation. In addition to the pictures in the catalog, all cars are also photographed in detail and from below (on the lift). And each car was filmed as it left the hall in Toffen on a red carpet. This is almost like the experience you have at an auction where the cars are driven up.
So a lot is done so that potential buyers can better assess their dream car from a distance. See for yourself on the Oldtimer Gallery website!
Of course, you can also view the cars on site and even go for a test drive, but only by appointment and in moderation.
You can then bid via the Internet or by telephone. Of course you can also place pre-bids.
The elaborate preparation is impressive in any case, so the Toffen crew would also be granted a small success, in the countercurrent to the Corona crisis.
