Dear classic car market - a hint ...
01/11/2019
Dear Peter and Norman
We were delighted to read your well-written report on the subject of the "Silver Lemon" in the current issue of Oldtimer Markt ( issue 1/2019). It is about the "prize" awarded in the 1970s by ADAC Motorwelt to particularly poorly assembled/manufactured cars, namely the Knudsen-Taunus, the Austin 1300 GT, the Matra-Simca Bagheera, the Triumph Spitfire and the Ford Granada 2.8i. All of these specific new cars - not the entire production, but outliers - caused their owners a lot of trouble at the time. We also took up this topic in our report on the Bagheera .
Of course, we were pleased that you also used zwischengas.com for your research, because the front page of ADAC Motorwelt issue 5/1975 could hardly have come from anywhere else, especially as you wrote yourself that the ADAC unfortunately did not support the research. Of course, it would have been great if there had also been a reference to our online magazine archive. But yes, water under the bridge. Maybe next time?
While I'm writing, I would also like to congratulate you (or rather you, Peter) on the really interesting report "Sand im Getriebe" on the topics of driving bans, warnings and environmental protection. Elegantly summarized and edited, informative and eye-opening! There is a lot of discussion about the effects of driving bans on classic cars/youngtimers and who knows what will come next ...
