The automobile and its eternal youth

No, you probably don't know the gentleman. But perhaps you have recognized the car, a BMW 507? The picture was taken in 1965, when the young man had just become the happy owner of the sports car.
The photo is particularly interesting when compared to the second picture. It shows the exact same BMW 507, but 48 years later, with the same person behind the wheel, also 48 years older. And (unfortunately) no longer the owner of the car.
We reported on the purchase in 1965 and the history of the beautiful car four years ago.
The story has now been enriched by another episode, as the car has been completely restored and has (unfortunately) lost its white paint in the process. Now, sprayed blue, it looks like new. Impressive!
Which leads us to the conclusion that cars (with a little help) can actually stay young forever, whereas we humans are quite transient and restorations are time-consuming and usually not successful in the long term ...
