In 1979, the vehicle pictured was spotted by my father in the parking lot at the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. It is probably an extensively modified Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. Or something completely different. It should probably have been a 300 SLR, but that shot was probably a bit of a miss.

Can anyone remember this car? Has it been seen anywhere and does it still exist in this version, or has the car been dismantled?

Perhaps there is someone among our readers who can answer one or all of these questions? We are curious!
