As fans of old sheet metal, we of course occasionally snigger at the (new) cars that make use of the beauty of our classic cars and (shamelessly) adopt old stylistic elements or even entire shapes.
But this so-called "retro design" actually has something good about it. Firstly, it can be seen as an appreciation of the earlier designers and secondly, it refreshes our memories of the past.
When we see a Mini or a Fiat 500 on the road, we immediately think of the old models. This at least refreshes our memories.
The only question now is how long it will be before someone tries a new version of the Citroën Ami 6 or the Renault R4 ....
