Maria Teresa de Filippis and UBS
04/27/2012
Maria Teresa de Filippis was born in Naples on November 11, 1926. The now 86-year-old Italian was the first woman to start an F1 race at the Belgian GP in 1958. She finished the race in tenth place.
At 85, she is now experiencing her second spring, because she is the woman for UBS! The major bank is doing a lot of advertising this year with Maria Teresa de Filippis and the Maserati 250F. She can be seen in a full-page advertisement in the program booklet of every current Grand Prix and also plays the leading role in a commercial for UBS on Italian-language television stations. In this short film, historical footage is beautifully edited together with newly shot material. On a sunny fall day, at the ripe old age of 85, she is seen putting on her helmet and climbing into the Maserati 250F. There are also some very nice driving scenes in the light and shade of Monza, where she spreads the fresh autumn leaves with her great trident monoposto as an encore.
In the photos above you can also see her in a Maserati 250F at the Ennstal Classic 2006.
