Volvo 122 S - for business, family and police
04/21/2012
Volvo positioned the Type 121/122S quite broadly at the beginning of the sixties. In the sales brochure of the time, the car was advertised for business use, but also for family use.
This was illustrated with a businessman wearing a 'tie' and reading a map - the navigation system had not yet been invented ...
... and the cheerful family on a weekend trip.
But elegance and prestige were also emphasized in the brochure. What was not mentioned, however, was that Volvo also offered the car as a police version and produced considerable numbers not only for Sweden.
A contemporary test of the Volvo 122 S from 1960 can be found in the Zwischengas archive, as well as the color brochure mentioned here and many pictures from that time.
