Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher on Sunbeam Tiger V8
04/03/2012
For once, the F1 drivers' parade at the Australian GP in Melbourne was not carried out with Austin Healeys, but with the impressively thundering Sunbeam Tiger V8.
Built from 1964 to 1967, the sports car with a Ford V8 engine was produced in three series in 7,085 units. In fact, around 26 of them exist in Australia. For the drivers' parade, 24 of them are needed, as each F1 driver is chauffeured around the circuit individually. Two more cars serve as a reserve in case one of them gets stuck with problems.
This year, after the obligatory group picture with all the drivers, an additional picture was organized by the FIA. All six world champions in one picture. From left to right: Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton. In total, there are 14 world championship titles on 24 cylinders in this one photo!
The two Germans Schumacher and Vettel alone have a total of 9 titles on 8 cylinders.
