The people spoke of the "bathtub", Ford advertising of the "line of reason". They were referring to the Ford Taunus P3, built from 1960 to 1964 and designed by Uwe Bahnsen.
The sales strategists pointed out its virtues: economical, spacious and easy to handle. The photo shows a dreamy lady and a gentleman with a hat and a cigarette. Well, it wasn't that sensible after all, at least not from today's perspective. Oh, how wonderful car advertising used to be ....
