Roadside repairs

This behavior of a road user, which was observed in our latitudes in the second half of the sixties, would be unthinkable today.
In search of a technical problem under the car, the vehicle owner was not afraid to crawl under the car, with his legs and upper body protruding dangerously into the road. The fact that he didn't even fit a warning triangle - they already existed back then! - was hardly surprising.
Were the "other" drivers more attentive back then? At least hardly anyone would have been on the phone while driving and you didn't have to fiddle with the car radio all the time.
P.S. There are more pictures (almost) without words in the specially created theme channel ...
