Studevette to pass the time
09/04/2023
There is historical evidence that around 130 years ago, the Shoshones liked to dig out folding chairs to send messages. But even the most traditional peoples have to move with the times at some point, so today, instead of foldable seating, they are also turning up foldable sports cars. And one of these folding sports cars arrived at our editorial office last week in the form of a Chevrolet Corvette from the late 1950s.
A loyal reader had sent it to sweeten the wait for my " beautiful Shoshone" . But because the products from South Bend, Indiana, are too unpopular today to be immortalized in folding cards, he had to get active and creative himself and, in addition to the Chevy, drew the front view of a '54 Studebaker - somewhat idealized in its dimensions in keeping with the times.
The ocean is crossed; customs is passed. The last few days until the conversion to European regulations is complete should now pass really quickly. Thank you very much for this kindest of all letters to the editor!
