75 years old and now the
I recently received an invitation from Honda to get to know the new top performances of the Honda engineers. After all, Honda will be 75 years old this September (founded on September 24, 1948), so my expectations were naturally high.
But even the invitation was disappointing, as the new models mentioned were a purely electric SUV, a sporty SUV and a premium SUV, i.e. "SUVs in all variations".
Yet we can still remember the days when Honda built cars that occupied an exceptional position.
There was the Honda S600/S800 (pictured above), for example, which with its extremely high revving engine provided real sports car performance and a lot of driving pleasure despite its small displacement.
And, of course, we remember the Honda NSX aluminum coupé, which even caused anxiety in Maranello and is still considered one of the best sports cars of all time.
The list could be extended indefinitely, for example with the Honda Civic CR-X, the Prelude Coupé with all-wheel steering or the S2000.
It's a shame that Honda is now only presenting SUVs for its 75th birthday. But maybe there is still something ....
And of course we still wish you a happy birthday, which is today.
