Seven in one go
10/06/2020
This was not an everyday situation for us either. For our Swiss print magazine SwissClassics Revue, we had asked some readers to come along with their vehicles for a group photo shoot. They responded in large numbers and we even had the choice of putting together a suitable group.
In the next issue (SwissClasscis Revue 82-6/2020), we want to show bread-and-butter cars from the early sixties beyond the VW Beetle and Opel Kadett. And we were delighted to welcome a truly international gathering. Seven cars from six countries posed for the photos: a Renault Ondine, a DAF Daffodil, a Ford Anglia Super, a Simca Aronde, a Saab 95, a DKW F12 and a Fiat 1100 Familiare (Neckar). The fact that some of these were the more luxurious versions of the former bread-and-butter cars is not atypical for Switzerland.
The variety offered by these seven cars was impressive: rear or front engine, rear or front-wheel drive, two-stroke and four-stroke engines, manual and automatic transmissions (Variomatic), saloon and estate designs, with and without sunroof. Unbelievable!
We were particularly pleased because our readers supported us so actively, patiently posed for still and driving shots and were always good for anecdotes in between.
Seven in one go, almost like the Brothers Grimm's Brave Little Tailor.
And another picture shows that you can also transport a DAF in style and with care.
