Oldtimer/youngtimer end-of-season brunch 2020 in autumnal weather conditions
This year's season finale had two special omens: COVID presented the event concept with organizational challenges and the heavy rainfall left no doubt that the very special 2020 classic car season was coming to an end as autumn began.
Despite these unfavorable omens, more than 125 petrolheads were drawn to the Emil Frey Classics Center in Safenwil on 3 October 2020, many of them with their classic or vintage cars.
The format was simple. Drivers of cars at least 20 years old could register, parking was provided and from 10:00 they and their co-drivers could enjoy the extensive brunch buffet. This was also a great opportunity for many gasoline conversations in a cozy atmosphere.
The band "18 Strings" provided background music during the brunch. The convivial get-together naturally led to cheerful shop talk and nostalgic reminiscences.
Some participants had followed the organizers' request to dress in historical attire, a great splash of colour for the event (see picture above).
Meanwhile, classic and vintage cars of all ages could be admired in the parking lots. The cars were from many decades ago. Due to the heavy rainfall, most participants preferred to chat with colleagues in the cozy hall.
Stephan Vögeli from the Emil Frey Classics Center was delighted with the large number of guests who turned up to enjoy the Season End Brunch despite the autumnal weather and COVID. A repeat of the season-opening brunch is already being planned for spring 2021, also in the hope that Corona will no longer require any restrictions.
