Speed over 80 years ago

When we recently " reissued " the report on the Chrysler Airflow and included an additional picture, a reader got in touch who knew that this photo was taken during the filming of the movie "Speed".
Obviously, realistic car factory sequences were filmed at Chrysler. Of course, we had to look for this movie right away and we found at least one trailer, which of course we don't want to withhold from our readers.
The movie revolves around a car mechanic and racing driver who wants to make a splash with a new carburetor design. In a first attempt to demonstrate its superiority, the car mechanic, who incidentally was played by James Stewart in his first leading role, almost kills himself.
Stewart is later able to prove that his carburetor works by driving it at top speed.
