The long journey of a Jaguar
09/23/2016
In 1947, the Basel-based company Reinbolt & Christé bodyworked a Jaguar Mk IV for a customer in Zollikon near Zurich. To the best of our knowledge, it was one of three examples that were bodied in this way. The buyer at the time was able to take delivery of the light gray car in 1948 and drove it until the mid-fifties, when it was sold to an engineer from Zurich.
In 1957, an American stationed in Europe acquired the elegant sports car and exported it to the USA via Germany and Great Britain, where it was only driven sporadically and then probably stored in a garage.
Now the car has reappeared and been brought back to Switzerland, where it will soon be gently restored and then become part of the Emil Frey Classics collection.
Currently, however, it can still be seen in the condition in which it crossed the Atlantic as part of the Emil Frey "90 Years Celebration Exhibition" Jaguar exhibition . You shouldn't miss it.
