You can also go classic car hiking with your wife
08/29/2013
At the ADAC Trentino Classic drivers' briefing, Prof. Dr. Mario Theissen, the ADAC's classic car expert, naturally also had his say. Visibly in a good mood, Theissen said that he would probably never take part in the Mille Miglia with his wife, but here at the Trentino Classic, his wife is sitting next to him in the 1970 Porsche 914/6.
The ADAC's classic car "hikes" are not to be confused with a conventional rally; instead of a road book, there are signposts along the route, and instead of a stopwatch, there are only rough time slots at which a special stage is to be tackled. And "special stage" does not actually mean a special stage, but a hiking break.
It really is a stress-free and relaxed way of driving a classic car, although of course small stages are the salt in the soup here too.
But more about that in our detailed report, which will be published soon.
