The endurance test no. 87 - Mercedes 300 SLR
One of the most famous reports in the Automobil-Revue was published on December 12, 1956 on page 19: AR endurance test no. 87 - Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. As far as we know, this was the only test of this vehicle in the German-language press! If you look for it in our archive today, you will find that pages 19 and 20 are missing from Automobil-Revue No. 53 1956!
The reason why these pages are missing from our archive is that they were cut out of all the copies in the archive. But we didn't give up and thanks to tireless searching we were able to find the page in the meantime. And of course we will republish the page. But it gets even better! We will be able to publish a "ZQ" version of the article with all the original photos in maximum resolution and also many photos that have never been published before.
It will be worth the wait! A racing car on a 3,500 km long-distance test is unique and the meticulousness of the AR testers will once again amaze us.
