The biggest threat to classic/young cars comes from politics (question of the month)
There is a lot of discussion about the future of the automobile and the future of the classic car. In a "question of the month" , we asked our readers who or what they thought was the biggest enemy of the classic/youngtimer.
Readers have rarely been so unanimous. Politics/regulation/bans were clearly identified as the biggest enemy. 60% of the almost 700 participants saw the greatest risks in this area.
For 20.4%, it is the lack of new blood that could put an end to the old car.
10.1% named problems with maintainability and spare parts as the biggest enemy and 6.2% saw progress in general (e.g. electromobility, autonomous driving or a potential fuel shortage) as a risk for classic/young cars.
3.3% were unable to give an answer.
Overall, however, a clear vote, which makes it all the more important to represent the interests of classic car and youngtimer drivers in political bodies.
