Luxury 65 and 70 years ago

In March 1957, a two-door S1 with a body designed by James Young was on the Bentley stand at the Geneva Motor Show. The model was not a resounding success; just three examples were built. One was the dark red car with chassis number B130EG from the Geneva Motor Show, for which a license plate "BM 1957" had been specially made. The car survived and found its way back to Switzerland last weekend after 65 years, on its own wheels over 1360 kilometers from London.
With this achievement, the owner won the prize for the longest journey to the BCCM, the British Classic Car Meeting in St. Moritz.
However, there was another Rolls-Royce with an equally interesting history. The Rolls-Royce Wraith with Mulliner bodywork from 1952, registered in Italy, was a regular guest in St. Moritz around 70 years ago.
The snow chains are still in the trunk today. The model had various modifications compared to the standard model, for example the wealthy owner did not want a third row of seats in order to have more space for luggage. In order to make this possible, the mechanics of the electrically operated partition in the interior also had to be extensively adapted. The owner, who was obviously a St. Moritz fan, also ordered a roof rack.
P.S. More about the 28th BCCM will soon be summarized in a pictorial review.
