Happy birthday, Baldo!
07/10/2022
Peter Lattmann (left), affectionately known as "Baldo", celebrated his 77th birthday on July 7 (July 7, 2022) on the Rossberg near Winterthur. As a long-time "Winterthurer Landbote" man, he also reported on Formula 1 for the "Automobil-Revue" and other publications for decades.
His life in the premier class began in 1968 in Jarama at the Spanish GP and ended at the 2016 Abu Dhabi GP. After 612 Formula 1 World Championship races as a reporter and TV assistant, it was finally time to close the laptop and put down the pen. After 48 years in the racing scene, the former handball player, amateur racing driver and sports sponsor (Marcel Fässler and Jasin Ferati) celebrated his 77th birthday last Thursday together with many long-time friends from the motorsport scene.
I wish my professional colleague all the best for a hopefully somewhat calmer future and look forward to seeing him again soon.
P.S. In the photo you can see from left to right: "Baldo" with Max Welti (former Sauber driver and later team manager), Michael Stäuble (retired F1 TV commentator from SRF) and the well-known Sauber team founder Peter Sauber.
