Is it already too late for a BMW 325i Touring?
Over the last few years, Classic Data's valuationsfor the E30 BMW 325i Touring have risen by an average of 29 percent per year. Three or four years ago, you would pay a few thousand euros for a reasonable example, but today five-figure sums can quickly change hands when selling. Original vehicles with low mileage are hard to find, the tuning movement (wide wheels, lowered suspension, flashy paintwork) had fully taken hold of this early BMW lifestyle station wagon, which is not everyone's cup of tea.
However, the E30 Touring with its 2.5-liter engine actually offered an attractive blend of classic BMW virtues, i.e. an inline six-cylinder engine running like a turbine, rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive was also available), sporty handling and a driver-oriented cockpit, spiced up with an attractive and comparatively timeless design. An E30 Touring is still a good choice today, and hardly anyone would consider it a classic car, even though the first examples were built in 1987.
The selection on the usual vehicle online exchanges is more than clear and if you set the characteristics a little more narrowly, e.g. five-speed gearbox, no four-wheel drive, under 150,000 km, etc., then you can quickly count the cars on offer on one hand.
But you're probably already too late today and the good examples have long been in the hands of enthusiasts and hardly ever come onto the market ...
