Classic pearls of the future - Audi R8 e-tron

Production of the Audi R8 e-tronelectric sports car was recently discontinued; not even 100 units had been manufactured. 462 hp and 920 Nm of torque were certainly something to write home about, enabling driving performance in the super sports car range. The range was also impressive at around 450 kilometers. Only the price, at around one million euros, was in a different galaxy.
The development of the electric R8 was already bumpy and the market launch had to be postponed in 2013. After further development steps from 2014, several series models were then produced. The R8 e-tron made its biggest appearance with Tony Stark, known as "Iron Man" (Marvel film), at the wheel.
The R8 would actually fit in perfectly with today's world and who knows, it will probably also fit in after 2030, when only electric cars will be allowed to be registered. That's if you can still maintain it and get replacement batteries, because the ones installed today will probably be exhausted by then.
The R8 e-tron certainly has a chance of becoming an expensive classic simply because of its rarity; we'll see how that affects the price. Perhaps an R8 e-tron will soon turn up at an auction ....
