When muscle power was still the order of the day

Today, we have an electric motor in our cars to help us with almost everything, whether it's adjusting the seat or opening the windows.
Of course, this was completely different decades ago, which is why engineers came up with particularly intelligent solutions.
In the Opel GT, for example (see picture above), the recessed headlights were turned when you pulled a lever in the cockpit.
And in the Peerless GT, as well as in other British models, there was a lever instead of a window crank with which the side window could be lowered or raised in one go.
Of course, it took a bit of effort and the muscles didn't atrophy, but a lever-operated side window was down in a matter of seconds, whereas today we sometimes wait three or five seconds for the window to lower with the help of the engine.
