Almost my first car

Of course I didn't own an Opel Admiral as my first car. At least not a full-size one. But the first really great toy car I was given was an Opel Admiral police car with cable remote control, similar to the one pictured here.
I loved this car because you could drive it like a real car with the little steering wheel. And even the hood (but not the trunk) could be opened. I spent countless hours behind the wheel of this white Admiral. Later, when the cable remote control had long since given up the ghost, I repainted the car.
Incidentally, a similar (but original and certainly functioning) model has now been auctioned for 170.00 euros, not a bad value for a toy car.
And why did I think of this? Well, my own Admiral naturally came to mind when I was editing the old test report on the Opel Diplomat V8 ...
