It was at the Kerenzerberg race in 1967. The driver of an Alfa Romeo GTA ran out of road (or talent) in the hairpin bend, touched the straw bales on the left with the rear and then smashed through the iron fence on the right.
Reader Kurt Koller captured the scene, which was also immortalized on film by Franz Leupi, in two photos at the time. To this day, he still wonders who the driver with the (hand-painted) starting number 236 actually was. Perhaps one of our readers can help here?
