Not everyone gets their due!
Probably the most famous freeway parking area in Germany was built on the A5 in honor of Bernd Rosemeyer. This rest area, named after the racing driver Bernd Rosemeyer (1909-1938), who had a fatal accident there on January 28, 1938 at around 440 km/h in a streamlined Auto-Union, has unfortunately since been renamed "Bordbruch-Ost", as according to guidelines, unmanaged rest areas should bear names related to the landscape. But perhaps the real reason was Rosemeyer's membership of the SS at the time.
Ayrton Senna was given an entire highway in Sao Paulo. The SP-070, the "Ayrton Senna Highway", is an important transport link from Sao Paulo to Campus do Jordao, Vale do Paraibo and Rio de Janeiro and is also the main access road to Guarulhos International Airport.
Michael Schumacher was awarded a street in Indianapolis and in his home town of Kerpen. The American "Avenue" is even guarded by the local sheriff.
Now Lewis Hamilton has apparently also been given a parking space (picture above).
Even before Siffert, Regazzoni and Fässler, a small parking lot in Zweisimmen (Canton of Bern) was named after the Briton. Since neither Marcel Fässler, Sebastien Buemi nor Neel Jani have ever been nominated for "Sportsman of the Year" for their sensational performances and probably never will be, it is funny to see that at least the Briton is being remembered in Zweisimmen. Or not ...
