Traction sought ... and found

Snow, ice and a poorly loaded rear-wheel drive do not exactly lead to brilliant traction. No wonder people who had to fight their way through winter conditions a lot used to like to buy a VW Beetle, because the engine was located above the rear axle and promised better-loaded drive wheels.
If you drive a Volvo 122 S, you have to make do differently. Johann Mlcoch, proud owner of such a vehicle and participant in the Planai Classic, and his co-driver and traction weight Martin Laaha also found a solution at the Planai Classic 2014 that was practiced decades ago.
And because the photographer was there with the right lens, a picture was taken. And because the photo turned out so well, it made its way around the (small but mighty German classic car) world. It first appeared in Motor Klassik and later in our Zwischengas annual magazine 2016- both as a double-page spread.
This in turn pleased Mr. Mlcoch and Mr. Laaha and so another photo was taken on the occasion of this year's Planai Classic. And all because the Volvo suffers from a lack of traction in the snow ...
