The weather really didn't play into the hands of many organizers this weekend. Depending on the area, it rained cats and dogs and hardly ever dried out. One or two registered participants in a classic car event decided to leave their beloved classic at home in the garage rather than expose it to the wet weather.
This is perfectly understandable in individual cases, as people are reluctant to expose their old iron to the wet and thus the risk of rust, but on the whole it is a very unfortunate thing for an event organizer. After all, by announcing the event, he not only made a promise to the individual participants, but also to his partners (e.g. in the catering sector) and to the visitors, who hopefully came despite the bad weather.
Last but not least, the other participants are also penalized, as they were looking forward to exchanging experiences with "competitors" and colleagues, some of whom may now be missing out.
The true heroes of the classic car era are those who take long journeys despite the bad weather and show their treasures to the interested public even in unfavorable conditions ...
