Rolex or Apple Watch?

When two monoposto drivers meet, there's bound to be some banter. Former French F1 driver Patrick Tambay (in Formula 1 from 1977 to 1986, two victories with Ferrari) teases ex-F1 world champion Jackie Stewart (1965 to 1973 in Formula 1, three world championship titles and 27 victories with BRM, Matra and Tyrrell) about his gold Rolex.
"What kind of historic (i.e. old-fashioned) watch are you wearing? Can you make calls with it, or at least take calls, just in case I suddenly call you on my Apple Watch Sport and you can't get your cell phone out of your pocket while driving?"
"Everything used to be better," Stewart replies laconically ...
We couldn't hear whether the dialog happened in exactly the same way over the noise in the pit lane, but we found the contrast between the two watches, which are from very different eras, interesting ...
