Nowadays, those responsible for marketing at the sports car manufacturer in Zuffenhausen would probably not use the image or the - not entirely clear - slogan for an advertising campaign, and the advertising text would hardly pass muster either:
"For some it's small - for others it's big. For connoisseurs, the ultimate goal is always their own Porsche - perfect technology with a perfect guarantee. Driving in its most beautiful form. You know that driving a Porsche is fun.
But do you also know why technology was the threshold to success for Porsche?
Because Porsche builds its vehicles to be safer, easier to handle, more economical, more environmentally friendly and more durable. Of course, this answer will not satisfy you. That's why you should contact us for more information. Because the better you know your Porsche, the more fun you will have with it."
Today, 40 years later, we can be pretty sure that Porsche did not owe its success, which only really began many years later, to this campaign ...
