Renault painted pastel colors
03/31/2013
The Renault Floride, also known as the Caravelle depending on the market and time, was a small sports car whose platform came from the rear-engined Dauphine saloon. The car was designed by Pietro Frua. The result was convincing and appealed to women in particular.
The color palette was also geared towards the expected clientele and included shades such as "Gris Harvard", "Vert Borneo", "Jaune Bahama", "Blanc Kilimandjaro", "Bleu Hoggar", "Bleu Narwik" and "Rouge Trinidad".
The majority of the eight colors available in 1961 were pastel shades. The Floride/Caravelle also looked very good in these colors.
The entire color palette of the 1961 Renault model year can be found in the Zwischengas archive, as well as a historical test reportfrom a German trade magazine.
