This picture was captioned "Do it yourself" in 1966. And the text read as follows: "A piece of chalk carried in a glove results in a good two dozen hand-painted parking spaces and at the same time presents the lawyers with the teasing quiz question of whether this is probably mischief or self-defense".
Well, hardly anyone could have imagined back then that fifty years later a parking space could cost five francs (or euros) per hour and that the inspectors would not only constantly remember the position of the car, but could also return every 15-30 minutes to finally issue the fine. Hardly anyone would try to argue with "self-defense" today...
