When the "sow" was let out in winter
03/24/2013
When you see a photo like this today, it is immediately clear that it was taken on a computer with the help of Photoshop. Not even the cars have to be photographed on location. Entire calendars with fantastic landscapes from New Zealand are now produced in the style of "Lord of the Rings" and yet the cars have never left our latitudes. They were photographed in the studio around the corner from the factory or against the open sky.
In the days of the Porsche 356, at the beginning of the sixties, everything was photographed in real life. The cars stood between the snow walls and the skier actually jumped over the cars. It was only possible to cheat a little with the focal length, so that the skier didn't have to fly directly over the models, but was offset slightly backwards to avoid causing unnecessary human damage if he fell with his skis.
The photographer had one picture per jump. Unfortunately, it is not known how many times the skier had to jump, but it is certain that it was not perfect the first time.
The picture was taken by Hans Truöl in February around 10 a.m. at 1800 meters above sea level in Zürs am Arlberg!
By the way, how did I come up with the caption? Just look at the license plates of the two 356s!
