No, that's not a typo or a call from "more experienced semesters".
Umm was a car brand, and "Alter" was the type of vehicle that Umm produced in 1986.
These were all-terrain vehicles with four-wheel drive and diesel or petrol engines from Indénor or Peugeot. They were even available as roadsters with canvas tops. And they were also useful pack mules, with a total weight of 2,600 and an unladen weight of around 1,600 kg.
Incidentally, Umm stood for "União Metalo-Mecânica" and was a Portuguese company that was active from 1977 to 2006.
