Restomod, why not? (Question of the month)
12/30/2024
Restomods seem to be enjoying ever-increasing popularity. They combine improved and modernized technology with the classic look of past vehicles. In terms of performance, they can sometimes compete with modern sports cars. However, they are usually also expensive due to the extensive modification work involved. And, of course, they are not classic cars in the strictest sense.
In a " question of the month " , we wanted to find out from Zwischengas readers what they think of restomods (examples: (Singer, Erbacher, Kimera, etc.).
Surprisingly, 40.9% now reject restomods completely because they mistrust the basic vehicle and value originality highly.
51.1 %, however, can definitely get something out of restomods. 38.3% are somewhat divided, because the car is no longer a classic car. But why not improve an old car for the sake of driving pleasure and usability? 12.8% think restomods are great because they offer classic driving pleasure with modern technology and modern improvements.
However, eight percent were unable to answer any of the questions. It can be assumed that they probably care a lot about what kind of vehicle is being restomodded.
